On the 7th of September at Eko Lodges in Lagos, we held our second Nigerian in-person conference along with our technology partners Infor and Hexagon. Also presenting were Pillar Oil, WTS Energy and PRISM SML.
The event was well attended, with over 80+ people coming to network and watch presentations on the importance of laying the right foundations for growth with scalable cloud-based finance, procurement and asset management solutions that grow with your business.
We started the day off with some presentations from Progressive TSL’s Chris Walcot and PRISM SML’s Edward Skene; these talks focused on Progressive’s Nigerian energy expertise, which set the scene for the talks that were to follow. Here’s a quick rundown of what happened during the event.
Pillar and Infor’s Fireside Chat
Andrew Newman, VP of Infor SunSystems and Uche Nwangboje, General Manager, Pillar Oil, sat down for a fireside chat in which Uche took us on their digital transformation journey from an outdated SAP Business One system, to their new Progressive implemented solution.
SunSystems and HxGN EAM in the cloud now cover all aspects of Pillar’s finance and procurement decisions. The scalability of cloud platforms means that the system will grow with them; it also offers a holistic view of all business entities across the organisation and allows the team to work anywhere in the world with approvals and reports at their fingertips on mobile or laptop.
“The transformation that the implementation has bought to us as a company and the various executives, is such that we we glad that we were here (Technology Solutions for the Nigerian Energy Sector) last year and the relationship, the partnership with Progressive has been very rewarding.”
Uche Nwangboje, General Manager – Finance, Pillar Oil Ltd.
After this discussion and some great questions from the audience on changing over from SAP Business One to SunSystems, getting the right implementation partner, and what moving to cloud can offer in terms of cybersecurity, Andrew Newman talked about “A Strategic Partnership for your Cloud” and gave us an update about the first 12 months for their new system Infor SunSystems Cloud. This was followed by Isabelle Isherwood, Senior Sales Manager, Hexagon ALI, presenting Innovations in Asset Performance Management with HxGN EAM.
“Our Gold Channel Partner Progressive TSL has a strong Oil & Gas pedigree in the (Nigerian) region with Infor SunSystems Cloud a key solution in their overall offering”
Andrew Newman, VP and General Manager, Infor SunSystems
“Progressive’s understanding of client’s requirements today and the need to support their growth strategy, has led to them becoming a key player at Hexagon in Nigeria and throughout Africa.”
Isabelle Isherwood, Senior Sales Manager, Hexagon ALI
In the afternoon, we heard from Yele Fafowora, Commercial Director for WTS Energy, who shared WTS Energy’s insights into ‘People and Solutions for the Energy Transition’ and he then went on to introduce HiberHilo’s Oil and Well Pipeline Management technology solutions.
Progressive’s Nigerian sister company, PRISM, laid out the benefits of standardisation, procedurisation and systematisation. Thanks to Paula Asindi for stepping in while her colleague Dr. Mark Igiehon joined Progressive’s Alison Richards at SPE Offshore Europe in Aberdeen.
To round off this brilliant event, Progressive, Infor and Hexagon presented the Nigerian Digital Transformation Award to Pillar Oil.
“Uche Nwangboje and his team have really transformed the way the company operates. Embracing technology to give Pillar Oil a competitive advantage!”
Chris Walcot, Chief Executive Officer, Progressive TSL
