On the 7th of September at Eko Lodges in Lagos, we held our second Nigerian in-person conference along with our technology partners Infor and Hexagon. Also presenting were Pillar Oil, WTS Energy and PRISM SML.

The event was well attended, with over 80+ people coming to network and watch presentations on the importance of laying the right foundations for growth with scalable cloud-based finance, procurement and asset management solutions that grow with your business.

We started the day off with some presentations from Progressive TSL’s Chris Walcot and PRISM SML’s Edward Skene; these talks focused on Progressive’s Nigerian energy expertise, which set the scene for the talks that were to follow. Here’s a quick rundown of what happened during the event.

Pillar and Infor’s Fireside Chat

Andrew Newman, VP of Infor SunSystems and Uche Nwangboje, General Manager, Pillar Oil, sat down for a fireside chat in which Uche took us on their digital transformation journey from an outdated SAP Business One system, to their new Progressive implemented solution.

SunSystems and HxGN EAM in the cloud now cover all aspects of Pillar’s finance and procurement decisions. The scalability of cloud platforms means that the system will grow with them; it also offers a holistic view of all business entities across the organisation and allows the team to work anywhere in the world with approvals and reports at their fingertips on mobile or laptop.

Uche Nwangboje describes meeting with Progressive at last year’s Technology Solutions for the Nigerian Energy Sector, and since go-live the new solution has been phenomenal.

“The transformation that the implementation has bought to us as a company and the various executives, is such that we we glad that we were here (Technology Solutions for the Nigerian Energy Sector) last year and the relationship, the partnership with Progressive has been very rewarding.”

After this discussion and some great questions from the audience on changing over from SAP Business One to SunSystems, getting the right implementation partner, and what moving to cloud can offer in terms of cybersecurity, Andrew Newman talked about “A Strategic Partnership for your Cloud” and gave us an update about the first 12 months for their new system Infor SunSystems Cloud. This was followed by Isabelle Isherwood, Senior Sales Manager, Hexagon ALI, presenting Innovations in Asset Performance Management with HxGN EAM.
